Las Lucas
Just a kiss
She already had a drink in her hand.

She already had a drink in her hand.
She doesn’t remember exactly what she was drinking, only that there was no plan that night. One bar, then another, then another. Bar hopping with nowhere particular to be, the kind of night that starts casually and somewhere along the way decides what it wants to become.
She stepped out into the street laughing, her glass still between her fingers, the warmth of the night clinging to her skin.
And then she saw him.
Across the street.
There was no smile. No wave. Just that one suspended moment when two pairs of eyes meet and, for some inexplicable reason, neither looks away.
He crossed the street.
Not hurriedly. Not hesitantly.
As if he had already made up his mind.
She stayed exactly where she was.
They met somewhere in the middle of a night that, only seconds before, had meant nothing.
She only remembers his lips on hers.
A sudden kiss. Almost reckless. The kind that asks nothing of reason. Strong, hungry, electric , carrying all the intensity of two strangers behaving, for a few stolen seconds, as though they had known each other for years.
And then...
She walked one way.
He walked the other.
No promises. No “Will I see you again?” to ruin the perfection of it.
It could have ended there.
Maybe it would have been perfect if it had.
But life has a strange way of laughing at the endings we choose for ourselves.
Later that night, in another bar, on another street, among music, voices and glasses being filled again, she sat down at her table.
And when she turned her head,
there he was.
At the table right beside hers.
For a moment, neither of them said a word.
This time, though, they smiled.
Some stories don’t need an introduction.
They only need two people who walked away in opposite directions
and a night stubborn enough to bring them back together.
